The cylinders are the aftermarket engine spare parts in which Athena has constantly invested for over ten years to improve production and performance. The company's engine cylinders and cylinder kits are recognized worldwide for their performance, durability and reliability. Engineered entirely in Italy by the Athena R&D department, with internal know-how and cutting-edge tools to design and test each cylinder, they are coated with motor-nicksil, a silicon nickel coating developed by Athena to obtain smoothness and optimal wear resistance.
The Standard Bore cylinder kit developed by Athena guarantees the same performance as the original spare part, extreme reliability and optimal smoothness thanks to the lightweight aluminum cylinder, to the barrel with nickel-silicon coating, and to a piston designed to further reduce friction.
The kit includes the high quality aluminum cylinder with standard bore, the complete piston with piston pin and rings, and the necessary gaskets.
All the components of the thermal unit have been designed, manufactured and tested with severe tests on the track and on the static and dynamic bench to guarantee maximum resistance to pressures and high temperatures.
This thermal unit can be installed without making any modifications to the motorcycle crankcases.
