Made from T309 (1.4828) grade stainless steel and hand polished to a mirror finish. This version includes custom hand-stitched heat blankets to reduce under-hood temperatures while protecting surrounding bodywork, hoses and painted surfaces from residual heat damage.
250-cell sports catalyst replacements for the primary catalyst and OPF/GPF replacement may cause CELs and require ECU tuning.
Uses OEM actuators
These high performance sport catalytic converters feature a 250 cell per square inch substrate made from the highest quality materials available today, designed to improve airflow to your vehicle and increase performance.
The cell count of a catalytic substrate refers to the number of holes per square inch and is a direct indication of the flow capabilities of that substrate. The lower the hole count, the larger the hole must be to fill a square inch, a larger hole subsequently flows more exhaust gas.
All that high flow won't help if the substrate is "squeezed" into a can or pipe that is too small in diameter. For this reason, the CAPRISTO Sports Cats are packaged in 5.2" packages to maximize exhaust gas flow and valved exhaust system operation.
The CAPRISTO valved exhaust system helps low RPM torque by providing exhaust back pressure and increases temperature for proper catalytic converter operation. While in the high RPM open valve condition, it takes full advantage of the free flow characteristics of the CAPRISTO Sport Cats by optimizing high energy exhaust at the ideal temperature and back pressure to maximize performance.
These catalytic converters can easily be retrofitted to CAPRISTO exhaust systems or any system that will fit directly over the OEM exhaust.
Capristo Automotive emphasizes that you should avoid accelerating your car when not in motion! The resulting exhaust flames could cause damage to vehicles and people nearby!
Recommended for off-road and track use only
Replacing the OEM catalytic converter(s) may cause the CEL (check engine light) to go off.
The use of sports catalytic converters, replacement pipes and manual valve controls (CES-3, EVCU-1) is not permitted on public roads in some US states and other countries. Please observe the legal regulations in the respective country/state. Sports exhaust systems not approved for use on public roads are intended for racing purposes only and are designed to be used on private racetracks. Use on public roads is at the buyer's own risk. Before installing an exhaust system, the buyer must ensure that the system can be used in the respective region.
