This feature is achieved by using vacuum-actuated valve flaps that open and close depending on driving conditions and driver input. At low engine speeds and during cruising, the valves are closed, producing a deeper exhaust note. At full throttle, the valves open, releasing the full symphony of the engine.

The exhaust valves are backpressure controlled and user programmable via the included CES-3 control module. The programmable control unit provides 3 modes operated via a remote key fob:

Cruise exhaust valves open at higher RPMs

Sport exhaust valves open at low RPMs and under hard acceleration

Open exhaust valves stay open

Both Cruise and Sport modes can be individually programmed for specific back pressure tolerances to determine when the exhaust valves open. This allows for precise exhaust control based on personal taste and driver tolerance.

CAPRISTO exhaust systems are designed and manufactured using advanced 3D laser scanning, CAD design, digital prototyping and CNC bending/milling at our facility in Germany. Each system is machined from high-quality T309 (1.4828) stainless steel and hand polished to a mirror finish. After extensive research, this specific alloy was chosen for its resonant properties, low weight and durability which are close to the properties of Inconel (used in F1).

These high performance sports catalytic converters feature a 100 cell per square inch substrate, made from the highest quality materials currently available, designed to improve the airflow of the vehicle and increase its performance.

The cell count of a catalytic substrate refers to the number of holes per square inch and is a direct indication of the flow capabilities of that substrate. The lower the hole count, the larger the hole needs to be to fill a square inch, a larger hole subsequently flows more exhaust gases.

All that high flow won't help if the substrate is "squeezed" into a can or pipe that is too small in diameter. For this reason, the CAPRISTO Sports Cat is packaged in 5.2-inch packages to maximize exhaust flow and valved exhaust system operation.

Replacing the OEM catalytic converter(s) may cause a CEL (Check Engine Light) to occur.

To disable a recurring CEL, you will need to either tune your ECU or use the Capristo OBD Wizard to digitally clear the CEL in your ECU.
