These high-performance headers made from 1.4828 (T309 (1.4828)) grade stainless steel were designed for the Ferrari F430 Coupe/Spider and Challenge.
The 4-2-1 design of these headers maximizes torque and horsepower in the mid-range of the power envelope, right where the driver needs it. The bends and connection points are a constant radius design that maximizes exhaust gas flow. These headers are built to be as lightweight and durable as possible.
These high performance headers provide a significant increase in horsepower and torque. Since they are compatible with the original catalytic converters, the headers can also be used as a cost effective replacement for defective OEM headers.
The headers come standard with the new innovative CAPRISTO heat shield. The heat shields are made of a very heat resistant material, originally developed and used by NASA. This helps reduce radiant heat from exhaust manifolds and sports catalytic converters. The shields are heat resistant for temperatures up to 1300 degrees Celsius.
Reduced heat or temperatures in the engine bay improve performance. The cooler air boxes result in cooler air temperatures for the engine to "breathe". In turn, denser air produces more horsepower.
Since the outside of the hot, blinding exhaust is shielded from the surrounding environment, the shields also reduce the possibility of fires that can sometimes occur when fluids/oil come into contact with the exhaust system.
Heat shields can also be retrofitted to the headers without having to remove them.
Headers CANNOT be installed and used WITHOUT these heat shields.
If you want to keep the original OEM exhaust (muffler), you must replace the exhaust mounts and brackets with the CAPRISTO mounting kit.
INSTALLER NOTE:
It is important to note that these headers should not be torqued to more than 24 Nm or 17.5 ft-lbs.
Over-torquing may cause broken studs and/or damage to the header. cylinder.
The factory F430 exhaust mounting bracket has a critical design flaw. The solid mount to the vehicle frame does not allow for any thermal expansion. The lack of expansion causes stress to be pushed back toward the engine and results in cracked headers or catalytic converters. Capristo offers an improved mounting bracket that is a critical preventative maintenance item. The Capristo design uses four spring-mounted suspension points to allow for this thermal expansion (up to 1.5 inches). If your exhaust components have already failed, DO NOT replace them without also replacing the mounting bracket with the Capristo design as it will fail again. Both Capristo F430 exhaust systems (valve and free-flow) include this mounting bracket.
