The cell count of a catalyst substrate refers to the number of holes per square inch and is a direct indication of the flow capabilities of that substrate. The lower the hole count, the larger the hole needs to be to fill a square inch, a larger hole subsequently allows more exhaust to flow.

All that high flow won't help if the substrate is "squeezed" into a can or tube that is too small in diameter. For this reason, the CAPRISTO Sports Cat is packaged in 5.2-inch packages to maximize exhaust gas flow and valved exhaust system operation.

The CAPRISTO valved exhaust system helps low-end torque by providing exhaust back pressure and increases temperature for proper catalytic converter operation. While in the high RPM open valve condition, it takes full advantage of the free flow characteristics of the CAPRISTO Sport Cats by optimizing the high energy exhaust at the ideal temperature and back pressure to maximize performance.

These catalytic converters can easily be mounted to CAPRISTO exhaust systems or any system that will fit directly over the OEM exhaust.

Replacing the OEM catalytic converter(s) may turn on the CEL (check engine light).

To turn off a recurring CEL you will need to tune the ECU or use the 02 sensor extensions.
