The CAPRISTO system comprises the muffler and the back pressure control unit and is designed exclusively to fit the Porsche987 Boxster – First Generation.
This system can be mounted on OEM headers, it is a simple “bolt-on” installation.
It features a programmable control unit also called the CAPRISTO exhaust control box. The box is programmable via remote control to suit the vehicle or customer's needs. It monitors the exhaust gas back pressure and ensures that the best possible performance is provided.
This system is sold with the CAPRISTO programmable remote control system.
This control unit offers the ability to individually program the back pressure you want to have to open or close the valves. The portion of the back pressure that results in a loss of performance is filtered out. This way, maximum performance can be achieved.
This sports exhaust combines all the benefits in both the lower and higher rev range (rpm), as the back pressure can be precisely controlled to allow the engine to achieve maximum performance. The programmable control unit has 3 basic modes that can be controlled via remote control, namely:
Cruise mode: the exhaust valves open later
Sport mode: the exhaust valves open earlier
Open mode: the exhaust valves remain open
In both cruise and sport mode, you can individually program when the exhaust valves should open. A big advantage is that the control unit recognizes the driver's operating characteristics. If the driver accelerates aggressively, our device recognizes this by the type of back pressure that is generated and the exhaust valves open immediately. Normal acceleration results in a late opening of the exhaust valves.
