The CAPRISTO high performance complete system is intended to be a balanced increase in power, drivability and sound quality, not forgetting of course a substantial weight loss. All this is delivered while maintaining the CAPRISTO philosophy, the best of both worlds, which offers the ability to produce an aggressive exhaust note under acceleration and a more subdued sound for city driving. Power gain of ~8 HP.
This feature is possible by using vacuum actuated valve flaps that open and close depending on driving conditions and driver input. At lower engine speeds and during cruising the valves are closed producing a deeper exhaust note. With wide open throttle the valves open releasing the full symphony of the engine.
The exhaust valves are controlled by back pressure and via the included Valve Controller Remote which allows permanent flap opening control, without the series control being able to intervene. When the exhaust valve system is closed again using the remote control, the serial control unit will take over the exhaust valves again. This allows for precise exhaust control based on the driver's personal taste and tolerance.
CAPRISTO exhaust systems are designed and manufactured using advanced 3D laser scanning, CAD design, digital prototyping and CNC bending/milling in our factory in Germany. Each system is made from high quality T309 (1.4828) stainless steel and hand polished to a mirror finish. After extensive research, this specific alloy was chosen for its sound resonance properties, low weight and durability which are close to the properties of Inconel (used in F1).
200 CELL SPORTS CATALYSTS:
High performance sports catalytic converters feature a 200 cell per square inch substrate made from the highest quality materials currently available, designed to improve airflow to your vehicle and increase performance.
The cell count of a catalytic substrate refers to the number of holes per square inch and is a direct indication of the flow capabilities of that substrate. The fewer the holes, the larger the hole needs to be to fill a square inch, a larger hole subsequently allows more exhaust gas to flow.
All that high flow won't help if the substrate is "squeezed" into a small diameter container or tube. For this reason, CAPRISTO Sport Cats come packaged in 5.2-inch packages to maximize exhaust gas flow and valved exhaust system operation.
IMPORTANT
*Exhaust system is designed to install directly into existing OEM mounting points*
*Recommended for off-road and track use only*
Replacing the OEM catalytic converter may activate a CEL (Check Engine Light).
To disable a recurring CEL you will need to tune the ECU or use 02 sensor extensions.
