Exhaust system mod. “Twin sound” for Ferrari 360 Modena with Valves
Exhaust system in 309 stainless steel, hand polished, cat back configuration, composed of a silenced terminal equipped with shock-absorbing bracket and valves.
The iconic CAPRISTO valved exhaust system offers the best of both worlds with its ability to produce an aggressive exhaust note under acceleration and a more subdued sound for city driving.
This function is possible using vacuum-actuated valve flaps that open and close depending on driving conditions and driver input. At lower engine speeds and during cruise operation the valves are closed and produce a deeper exhaust note. With the throttle fully open, the valves open releasing the full symphony of the engine.
The opening or closing of the CAPRISTO valves is controlled by the engine ECU, so They work the same way the original exhaust was designed to work. The OEM vacuum hoses plug directly into the CAPRISTO valve system.
With the valve closed, the exhaust still offers a more aggressive exhaust note than the stock and similar system to a Capristo Sound Level 1 system. When the valves open, the exhaust sound is significantly improved and becomes louder than Capristo Sound Level 3 (comparable to Challange Stradale). The advantage of the Twin Sound design is to offer a less aggressive sound at low revs with the exhaust note inspired by open throttle racing.
The Twin Sound System is available in standard configuration, which automatically opens the valve at higher rpm using the car's standard ECU functionality. Alternatively, the Capristo remote exhaust kit could be fitted, which would provide the ability to open and close the valves at the touch of a button. In the closed condition, control is returned to the engine ECU.
CAPRISTO exhaust systems are designed and manufactured using advanced 3D laser scanning, CAD design, digital prototyping and CNC bending/milling in our factory in Germany. Each system is made of high quality T309 (1.4828) stainless steel and hand polished to a mirror finish. After extensive research, this specific alloy was chosen for its sonic resonance, low weight and durability properties which are close to the properties of Inconel (used in F1).
IMPORTANT
During installation, it is IMPERATIVE to remove all OEM mounts - you must use the exhaust bracket supplied with the exhaust.
The designed fitment from CAPRISTO works so well that we recommend mounting it instead of the original support system even if the OEM silencer is retained.
