The F9X X5M, G09 XM Eventuri system uses our patented carbon fiber housings with our custom Gen 2 filters, providing an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbos. Not just another conical filter with a heat shield, but a unique design that mimics the Venturi effect and maintains laminar flow conditions to reduce drag on the turbo.

Introducing our F9X X5M, G09 XM air intake. This intake is the result of extensive R&D and testing to improve the flow path of the stock system. Our system is a complete redesign of the stock airboxes with the goal of reducing pressure loss while increasing flow and keeping inlet temperatures low. With the stock cold air feeds at the front of the car and the turbo intakes facing the rear of the car, airflow must negotiate a 180-degree turn through each airbox, resulting in restricted flow. To overcome this, we introduced an additional cold air feed from the scuttle panel, resulting in a more direct flow path to the turbo intakes. The additional feeds allow the intake to have a higher flow rate while keeping IATs low and have the added benefit of de-restricting the turbo sound. With the intake ports now facing the cabin, the turbo flutter and pressure release sounds are clearly audible, taking the driving experience to another level.
Dynamometer Testing
This intake has been independently dynamometer tested by MSL Performance in the UK. Tests were run back-to-back against the stock airbox and several runs were performed with each setup. The car tested had no carbon filters in the stock airboxes. The dynamometer results show a consistent gain across much of the rpm range, which can be attributed to the turbos reaching peak power earlier and having a lower wastegate duty cycle due to the increased efficiency of the intake system. The performance gain translates on the road into greater response at half and full throttle, with the car pulling much more eagerly towards the redline.
The Eventuri X5M intake system is made up of a series of components designed to perform a specific purpose and manufactured to the highest standards. We use 100% pre-preg carbon fiber with no fiberglass, which means we can achieve a smooth internal surface to maintain smoother airflow. FILTER HOUSING ASSEMBLIES
Filter housings include our custom-fit second generation filters, aluminum inlet caps and stainless steel brackets. The carbon pod wraps around the reverse mounted filter and smoothly shapes the airflow into the OEM turbo intakes. This changes the flow path from the OEM airbox where the airflow enters the base of the airbox, changes direction 90 degrees to pass through the panel filter and then changes direction 90 degrees again to pass through the tube section. Our system is much more direct with the airflow entering the front of the filter housing and moving into the turbo inlet section without any abrupt changes in direction. The result is a smoother path from the filter to the turbo and therefore able to operate with less resistance.
CUSTOM CONE FILTER
To achieve the highest possible flow rate, we use a filter element to maximize the available space in the engine compartment. The filter media is ISO tested to ensure that the filtration is in line with OEM standards and is also dry. The filter is constructed with our signature flow cones to support the Venturi housing principle.
TECHNOLOGY PATENTED
Our patented filter housing features a uniform reduction in cross-sectional area as it wraps around the filter and tapers towards the tube. This geometry is reminiscent of the Venturi effect where the airflow accelerates whilst maintaining laminar conditions. It can be thought of as a large velocity stack - below is a diagram showing how our patented design compares to a standard intake system. Our custom-fit filters assist the airflow as it moves through the housings and allow for a uniform velocity profile as the airflow exits the housings. CARBON TWIN AIR DUCTS
The biggest restriction in the stock system is the position of the feed relative to the orientation of the turbo intakes. The feeds are at the front of the car and the turbo intakes face the rear of the car. We designed the air ducts with an additional opening at the top and introduced a secondary feed where cold air is taken from the scuttle panel. By utilizing both OEM air supplies and additional air supplies, our system is able to flow at a higher flow rate and provide a less tortuous flow path to the turbos.
EPDM REAR SUPPLIES
To ensure the intake is completely sealed, secondary vents on the carbon ducts seal these EPDM feeds which then head into the scuttle panel area. Once the bonnet is closed, the scuttle area is sealed from the engine bay, so these feeds are able to provide the intake with a supply of ambient air. A pre-cut center section of the OEM hood gasket is provided to allow clearance for the installation of these EPDM power supplies.
CARBON ENGINE COVER
Since our filter housings are designed for maximum volume, the OEM engine cover no longer fits in place. So we've produced a modified cover that completes the engine bay, covering the engine hardware for a finished look. We've left gaps between the engine cover and the intakes so that heat from the engine can easily dissipate rather than leaking into the intake system. The complete system assembles to provide an intake that improves on the stock airbox in terms of performance, aesthetics and sound.
