Since the horn lengths are adjusted by BMW based on the internal volume, changing them could result in a loss of performance, so we kept the volume the same so as not to alter the way the car drives in terms of power delivery. Although the carbon plenum does not result in a performance gain, the induction sound generated takes the M3 driving experience to a whole new level. The raw V8 rumble gives the M3 an almost CSL-like sound and it is truly an intoxicating experience. We ran several iterations using different thicknesses of carbon to fine-tune the sound and the resulting plenum generates almost unbelievable volume and induction tone.
This plenum can be used with the OEM airbox or any aftermarket intake system. Our E9X M3 additional intake system provides a real performance gain.

A lot of attention has been given to the fitment of the plenum to ensure it fits exactly like the OEM. Precision machined flanges allow for easy positioning and installation of the plenum. Additionally, the CNC machined temperature sensor boss allows for exact and secure fitment of the sensor, just like the OEM version. No corners were cut in the development of this plenum and together with our E9X M3 add-on intake system, the transformation of the car is stunning.
