The S85 Eventuri system utilizes our patent-pending carbon fiber housing that provides an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the MAF tube. Not just another cone filter with a heat shield, but a unique design that recalls the Venturi effect.
Performance increase: 12-15 HP, 12-18 ft-lbs
Some images show our Carbon Plenum available separately.
Our updated E60/E63 M5/M6 intake system retains the performance gains of our original system and takes advantage of our years of experience to create a more integrated design. By integrating the MAF tube into the carbon housing and replacing the OEM flex pipes with our shorter custom-made versions, the system now has a seamless aesthetic. This intake is designed to have a positive impact on the entire driving experience. By harnessing aerodynamic principles and using computational fluid dynamics to optimise airflow, we’ve designed an intake system that delivers on all fronts: sharper throttle response, more torque and power, improved drivability and, of course, an intoxicating V10 induction sound.
We’ve put together a dynamometer plot showing the Eventuri versus the stock airbox on a stock E60 M5 with the stock map. The stock airbox tested is European spec with carbon delete and Euro filters, so it’s less restrictive than the US version. As you can see, power and torque are increased across a wide rpm range, not just at peak. This is immediately noticeable on the road as the car feels sharper, more eager to drive even in mid-range. Tests were run on the same day back to back and temperatures were monitored to ensure consistency.
Dynamometer testing was performed on a Dyno Dynamics DS450 dynamometer. To ensure accurate testing, all tests were matched based on: - Intake air temperatures via the IAT sensor built into the MAF via OBDII - Matched ignition timing (ignition timing can vary significantly from test to test) - Engine temperature (coolant and oil) - Exhaust gas temperature - Two consistent runs recorded for each of the following tests Test Procedure: - Test 1: Stock car, stock tune, stock intake system and European filters (equivalent to carbon removal) - Test 2: As above plus Eventuri upper air intakes - Test 3: Stock car, stock tune, complete Eventuri kit
COMPONENTS
The E6X intake system contains a comprehensive number of high quality components including which:
PATENTED FILTER HOUSINGS
The E60 M5 V2 filter housings utilize our patented venturi technology while incorporating the MAF tube section for a seamless flow path. The carbon housing surrounds the reverse mounted filters and gently shapes the airflow towards the MAF tubes where the volume is gradually reduced. This gentle reduction in cross-sectional area is reminiscent of the Venturi effect where the airflow accelerates whilst maintaining laminar conditions. It can be thought of as a large velocity stack - below is a diagram showing how our patented design compares to a standard intake system. Further details can be read on the Technology page. CUSTOM CONE FILTER The filter we chose for the E60 M5 system allows for a balance between filtration area and overall filter housing volume. By using a shorter cone we were able to optimize the housing shape for better flow to the MAF tubes while maintaining more than enough filtration area for the required CFM. The filter media is ISO tested to ensure the filtration is in line with OEM standards and is also dry. The filter is constructed with our signature flow cones to support the Venturi housing principle.
EPDM JOINTS
By running the housings longer into the plenum we had to replace the OEM hose with our own version to maintain flexibility. Our EPDM joints are internally stepped like the OEM versions to create a smooth path between the housings and the plenum. INTAKES
AIR INTAKES
Laser cut from aluminum and then powder coated, there are 2 intakes located behind the front nose grilles and 2 more located in the lower brake ducts. The front intakes are curved to gently direct ambient air into the stock ducts which then move hot air away from the intake area. The 2 lower air intakes direct ambient air directly into the air intake openings.
HEAT SHIELDS
There are 2 aluminum heat shields with neoprene coating. They are located on the engine side of each air intake and effectively divert hot air away from the radiator, especially when the fan is running.
