Totally redesigned intake and exhaust ports
REVOLUTIONIZED CYLINDER PIPES
The great experience of Athena technicians also in the world of 2T has allowed us to think of this cylinder upsetting tradition. The intake and exhaust ports have been completely redesigned. Thanks to thermo-fluid dynamic analysis systems of the engine, it has been possible to increase the performance of the engine in terms of power and torque, with results never achieved before. The intake is totally redesigned with a CNC machined fifth port which ensures a greater flow of fresh gases at the inlet.
Thanks to the innovative cylinder fixing system to the crankcase without using studs, yes it was possible to design and adopt an oval geometry exhaust port with a larger section with lateral boosters. This solution cannot be found on any other cylinder of this type on the market today.
NEW RACING PISTON
The study of the flat-head piston was conducted focusing in particular on the interaction with the 'aspiration. The CNC machined window on the casing is designed to maximize the incoming flow and thus promote greater pressure on the pump crankcase and better lubrication of the roller cage.
FASTENING SYSTEM REINVENTED
All normal stud-based head and cylinder tightening has been eliminated in favor of introducing of a new system that adopts special bolts usually used in the highest performing engines. The tightening of the cylinder to the crankcase (Racing type) with dedicated bolts and wrench is a solution that on the one hand reduces the expansion of the cylinder, to the advantage of more efficient tightening, and on the other allows the sophisticated redesign of the exhaust port which makes this such a special and high-performance product.
